## Keynote Indications
Thyroidinum, also known as Thyroidea, is an organopathic. The sarcode is prepared from 
the dried thyroid gland taken from a sheep, ox or calf. The thyroid is closely connected with the heart and it 
exercises a general regulating influence on growth and development. 
The homeopathic proving was established by M. Panos, R. Rogers, and J. Stephenson in 1963 -64, using a 
double-blind method. The potencies 12x, 30x, 200c and 1000c were used. The symptomatology completes 
the work of Ghosh of Calcutta, which dates from 1963. Thyr. symptoms are made up  of the toxicological and 
clinical sources as well as the proving symptoms. 
Thyr. affects the central nervous system, skin and left side. Metabolic disorders. Goiter. Myxedema with hair 
loss and cretinism. Diuretic action in myxedema and various types of edema.  
Anemia, emaciation. Infantile wasting. Rickets. Arrested development of children. Acromegaly, delayed union 
of fractures. A state of puffiness and obesity. Excessive obesity. Great weakness and hunger, yet loses flesh. 
Craving for large quantities of sugar. 
Rheumatoid arthritis. Nervous tremor of face and limbs. Tin gling sensations. Paralysis. Hystero -epilepsy. 
Tetany, worse cold. Muscular weakness. Sensation of faintness after acute diseases, weakness. Easy fatigue, 
weak pulse with a tendency to fainting, palpitations. 
Increased heart rate. Dilates arterioles. Tachycardia. Low blood pressure. Cold hands and feet, chilliness and 
sensitive to cold. As of a cold wind blowing on the body. Sweating, headache. Exophthalmus and dilatation of 
pupils. Amblyopia. Weak memory. Cretinism. Psoriasis. Nocturnal bedwetting. 
Breast tumors. Cystic tumors of the breast (2x trituration). Lack of breastmilk. Vomit ing of pregnancy. 
Uterine fibroids. Saidto be effective in undescended testicles in boys when given in half-grain doses twice 
a day over a considerable period. 
Feels tired and sick, easy fatigue, wants to lie down. Fainting fits, tremors, nervous of face and limbs. Stabbing, 
splitting, clutching sensation. Choking. Convulsion in the nursing children, related to a febrile cutting of teeth.

Better after or during menses. Better evening, rest, lying on abdomen or reclining position. Worse 
in women, before and during menses. Worse least exertion, stooping. Worse cold. Heart worse lying down.

### Vertigo
- Vertigo, in the morning on rising, on leaning forwards.
- COMMENTS - Thyr.
- has a profound action on the heart.
- Fatal syncope occurred in a number of cases under 
“thyroid feeding.” Cyanosis was produced in many cases.
- Burnett gave a patient 3x, producing severe angina 
pectoris.
- The connection between the heart and the thyroid gland is very close, as seen in cases of 
exophthalmic goiter, of which many cases have been cured.
- In a case of valvular heart disease following rheumatism in a man, 24, Thyr.
- 3x, thrice daily, quickly relieved a 
squeezing pain at the heart with inability to lie down, and hastened the patient’s recovery.

- In myxedema, cachexia, cretinism and similar conditions, the thyroid gland is absent or defective and the idea 
is to supply a physiological want.
- As such, a state of puffiness and obesity may be regarded as a keynote 
indication for Thyr.

- 3x to a living skeleton of a child, 5, who looked not older than 2.
- He  had been kept in a box 
in a cellar all his life until brought into the hospital, when he weighted only 14.25 pounds.

careful feeding he gained .25 pounds per week.
- When Clarke com menced Thyr.
- he put on weekly .75 pound 
and gained the use of his legs, being able to stand by holding on to a chair.
- In a case of universal and very aggravated psoriasis in a schoolboy, fair, very chilly, cold, clammy hands and 
feet, Thyr.
- 3x and later 30c completely cured after a prolonged course.

### Ears
- Sclerosis of ossicles.

### Face

- Sensation of something heavy, which falls from the cheeks.

### Mouth
- Dryness of mouth.
- Bad taste, metallic, bitter and sour.
- To ngue, metallic taste at tip.
- Tongue coated 
grayish white in center with red edges or tip.
- Papillae enlarged and prominent.
- Tongue thickly coated.
- Swelling 
of the upper lip.
- Nose - Dry mucus membrane indoors, fluent coryza, profuse, watery and bland outdoors.
- Dryness and sticking 
pain in posterior nares, worse on swallowing.
- Rhinitis with sneezing and edema of the nasal mucus 
membranes.

### Throat

### Stomach & Abdomen
- Increased appetite.

better in cool air.
- Vomiting of pregnancy.
