## Keynote Indications
Hale said some country practitioners used Sol-n. with much success under the impression 
that it was “an indigenous Belladonna,” having been misled by the name “nightshade.” 
Hale verified its use in meningitis and headache. Also in scarlatina when the erup tion is blotchy. He justly 
pointed out the close affinity of Sol-n. with Bell.: Delirium, headache, flushed face, sparkling eyes, pains coming 
and going suddenly, fiery rashes, burning skin and sweat. 
“Frightful” headaches. Splitting, throb bing, bursting, piercing headaches, worse by least movement of head, 
least movement after sitting, light, noise, stooping. Headache is worse in a warm room and better in open air. 
Great sensitiveness to cold air. 
Marked action on head and eyes. Brain irritation during dentition. Restlessness of a violent and convulsive 
nature. Formication with contract ion of limbs. Ergotism with tetanic spasms and stiffness of whole body with 
mania. Black appearance, bruised feeling all over the body. Chronic intestinal toxemia.

## Modalities (Aggravations / Ameliorations)
Better closing eyes. Worse by touch, motion. Worse moving head, beginning to move after sitting. 
Worse walking (inclines to left), misstep. Worse swallowing. Worse morning on waking, light. Worse bright 
sunshine (eyes). 
Nose - Acute coryza, profuse, watery dis charge from right nostril, left stopped up with chilly sensation, 
alternating with heat.

### Vertigo
- Vertigo with a terrible headache and complete cessation of the mental faculties.

- COMMENTS - The provings and symptoms of poisoning cases are unu sually distinctive.
- Tendency to 
blackness of the skin.
- Painful swelling, it enlarges, becomes shiny, hard and deep red and in several places, 
quite black.
- Marked dilatation of the pupils (Bell.).
- Dryness of mouth and throat.
- Spasms, convulsions and tetanic  rigidity 
of the whole body.
- “In the midst of these convulsions the children frequently stretch out their little hands, then 
carry them eagerly to their mouths and go through the motions of chewing and swallowing.”  
A patient of Cooper’s, after one dose of the tincture, patches of psoriasis on the knees, elbows and forehead, 
scaly with red irritating spots at roots of hair disappeared.
- The day after taking a single dose of tincture, another 
patient of Cooper’s had, “Head feels full across forehead, eyes heav y and forehead burns, could not apply 
himself to work.”

### Head
- Terrible headaches and complete cessation of the mental faculties.
