Potts of the Uni versity of Pennsylvania, contributed a pa per to The Gazette, \nDec., 1895, on the remedy, giving several cases. \nH. T., male, aged thirteen years. Idiopathic epilepsy, had his first spell five years ago, averaged one paroxysm \ndaily. Sol-c. was first given in 10 drops doses without effect. When incre ased to 25 drops, the spells were \nlighter in severity, but occurred about as often. \nThe dose was finally increased to a teaspoonful four times daily. After being put upon this dose he was under \nobservation six weeks during which time he had six seizures much lighter in severity. \nT. H., male, aged twenty-eight years. He had epileptic seizures for three years, following an injury to the head \nwhich rendered him unconscious, but produced no other visible injury. Since this, however, had almost \nconstant headache. The first spell was six months after the injury and have been frequent after, averaging \nthree to four weekly, of an ordinary type. \nSol-c. in 40-drops doses three times daily was given, the spells at once decreased in frequency and severity. \nDuring the last six weeks he was under observation he only had three spells, very mild in type.  \nA. N., male, aged thirty years. First spell \none year ago, have since occurred every two weeks, good deal of headache. Sol -c. 30c drops three times a \nday. No spells for one month and headache ceased. He then stopped attendance. \nJ. D., female, aged eighteen years. First spell when thirteen years old, had one spell a month at the time of \nher menstrual period. About a week before her next period, she was given Sol -c. 40 drops three times a day \nand escaped the usual spell. The following month however, she had one.  \nI. K., female, aged twenty -five years. Nocturnal epilepsy forpast three years, about one spell a month. While \nusing Sol-c. 40 drops three times a day, went three weeks longer than usual without a spell. The dose was \nthen increased to 1 fluid drachm, she then ceased her visit. \nF. S., female, aged twelve years. First spell five weeks before her visit, had been having them daily since. Sol-\nc. 30 drops ordered, this dose was  gradually increased to 1 fluid drachm. During the three months that she \nwas under observation her spells averaged in number about one a week.  \nH. B., male, aged eighteen years. First convulsion at age of ten years, then had none until three months before \nvisit, had general convulsions about once daily since. Sol-c. 40 drops ordered. He was only under observation \nnine days, having during that time four spells, much milder in character. \nA. C., female, aged fifteen years. First convulsion one year before, they had been increasing in frequency, up \nto one about every three days. During the three weeks she was taking Sol -c. 30 drops three times a day she \nhad one spell, occurring during the third week. \nH. K., male, aged eighteen years. First spell when fourteen  years old. Every three or four days had several \nattacks in succes sion, an average of about one daily. While taking Sol -c. 40 drops, afterwards increased to \n \n \nteaspoonful-doses, he had twelve in thirty-eight days, an average of a little less than one in thr ee days, going \nsix without having any.","modalities":"","symptoms_by_system":[],"schema_version":"1.0","api_provider":"Allahshafi"}
