Inflamed tonsils from colds, tending to suppuration. Nash had a case in which the \ndischarge was thick, bland and copious. Puls, relieved the catarrh but increased the menstrual flow too much. \nSep. cured both. \nWhooping cough when it has lasted eight weeks or longer and the paroxysms, though reduced in number and \nvirulence, do not disappear and occur especially before mid night. The patients are reduced in strength, \ndyspeptic, irritable, tearful, easily angered \nor apathetic. \nSymptoms are generally left-sided. Worse standing, kneeling, on the left. Very chilly, sensitive to cold. Better \ndeep pressure but worse light touch. Irritable in the mornings from toxicity in the liver (Nux-v.). Need movement, \nbut worse from exertion. Cheerful with thunderstorms. \nKunkel reported a case of pulmonary affection in a boy, 14, who had been under treatment five weeks for \ncough and hoarseness. Hoarseness was worse evening, cough with purulent sputa during the day. Slept well \nbut dreamed when he lay on left side. Emaciated. Phos. lOx produced little change. \nThere was remarkable tightness of the chest on breathing with inclination to take a deep breath, this was better \nin open air, on motion, while at work, worse while in the h ouse and at rest. Though the weather was bad he \nhad a constant desire to be out of doors. Sep. lOx made a rapid cure. \nBoenninghausen recommended Sep. in cases of cough, either with or without ex pectoration with blood -\n \n \nstreaked, purulent, yellow greenish or stinking sputa, and especially in tuberculosis. \nNash mentioned a case of cholera infantum that he cured with Sep. on the indication \u201calways worse after taking \nmilk.\u201d He compared it with Ant-c. for moisture oozing from the anus, which has the first place. \nBahr said Sep. afforded considerable help in a certain condition of the system that had only been noticed in \nfemales. After the exacerbation of a chronic gastric catarrh has lasted a few days with intolerable burning \npains, the kidney region becomes painful, more particularly the left side. \nViolent burning pain in the kidney region and a quantity of saturated, highly-colored urine is discharged. Urine \ndeposits copious quantities of urates, or else a clear urine with copious sandy sediment, coated with uric acid. \nAfter the discharge, the pains generally abate and only return if the stomach has not been restored to its normal \ncondition. \nHering noted its usefulness for \u201ccondylomata completely surrounding head of penis.\u201d \nClarke cured a crop of small, velvety w arts completely encircling the mouth of the prepuce. Thuja had failed. \nClarke also cured with Sep. 3x a large horn-like wart on the abdomen of a woman. It was as large as a crown-\npiece but shaped like a bean and raised a quarter of an inch from the surface . \nClarke confirmed the experience of Dr. Swallow, who found the fresh preparation of Sep. to possess a wider \nrange than the ordinary preparation and to act as an \u201corgan remedy\u201d in a great variety of uterine disorders not \ndefinitely indicated by the pathogenesis.
