## Keynote Indications
Sant, is the active principle of Santonica, the unexpanded flower heads of Cina Artemisia 
Marítima. 
Sant, is the favorite anthelmintic of the old school and it has been chiefly given against lumbrici. Fatal 
poisonings have caused convulsions, left side paralysis, delirium, vomiting and purging.  
Worm affections, corresponding to the “pain in shocks” (Cina.). Gastro-intestinal irritation, itching of nose, 
restless sleep, twitching of muscles. Asearía lumbricoides and thread worms, but not tapeworms. 
Colorblindness and yellow vision. Visual illusions, yellow sight,  violent light not rec ognized, colors not 
distinguishable. Chronic cystitis.  Urine deep saffron color. Chronic gastric and intestinal t roubles. Night 
cough of children. Laryngeal crises and lightning pains of tabes. 
Spasms and twitchings. Violent convul sions, unconscious, head hot, face flushed, purplish. Spasm begins in 
face and spreads to limbs. Partial paralysis of one (left) side. Restlessness and prostration.

### Vertigo
- Giddiness and intense headaches, every object looks bright green.
- COMMENTS - A case recorded by Demme was quoted in Brit.

- A boy, 3, was given fifteen 
tablets over three days by his mother.
- Each tablet contained 1/3 grain of Sant.
- The symptoms produced were vomiting, dilatation of the pupils, collapse, cyanosis, dyspnea and finally 
convulsions.

- After a warm bath with cold applications to the head and spine, consciousness returned.
- The temperature was 
103.5, nosebleed and hemoglobinuria occurred and a scarlatinalike eruption was noticed.

- After a dose of 7 centigrams, a child, 2, was seized with prostration, 
convulsions, cramps and jaundice, followed on the third day by salivation and ulceration of the gum.
- Less serious but very characteristic are the effects on th e senses, especially the sense of sight.

figures have been produced and colored vision is a frequent phenomenon, even when the lower tritura tions 
have been used.
- Yellow is the predominant color, but green and violet vision are also marked.
- The urine also is yellow colored 
and stains yellow and is passed with much urging and painful burning.
- A kind of giant urticaria occurred in one 
case.
- Hale recorded that Sant, cured cases of “nervous blindness.” It was given to an old man, quite blind, for 
worms and his sight partially returned.
- This led to further trials in which it wrs given in nine cases of cataract 
and, according to Hale, four were cured, the rest not benefited.
- Hale also mentioned bedwetting, strangury, chronic cystitis, as having been cured by it.
- Chronic catarrh of the 
bladder.

### Face
- Red, hot face, staring eyes.

drawing in of lips over teeth with pinched expression of mouth and nose.

### Mouth
- Frothing from mouth.

### Throat
- The glands of neck, parotid and submaxillary are swollen.

### Chest
- Paralysis of lungs, needs artificial respiration.
- Pulse is quick and full, rapid, lowered, left absent, right soft and steady.
- Kidneys - Nephritis.
- Feeling of fullness of bladder.
- Incontinence and dysuria.
- Bedwetting.
- Frequent efforts 
to urinate, only passes a few drops at a time, that color linen yellow.
- Urine greenish if acid and reddish purple 
if alkaline.
- Urine deep saffron yellow, thick, sulphur yellow, greenish.
- Hemoglobinuria.
- Coughed incessantly all night from tickling in larynx and trachea.
- Breath is rapid, sighing, quick and 
catchy, rattling.

### Stomach & Abdomen
- Dull pain in pit of stomach.
- Frequent belchings.
- Nausea and vomiting.
- Nausea, better after eating.
- Vomiting and purging of yellowish, slimy mucus with severe abdominal pains.
- Teeth - Grating teeth during sleep.
- Teeth clenched.
