The Natrum Carb patient\nquivers even on the slightest noise  so much so that the heartbeat\nbecomes irregular, even with the ru stling sound of paper. The Natrum\nCarb patient is recogni zed through these peculia r symptoms.  It is\nstrange that, no matter how loud the noise  is, if the level is constant it\ndoes not bother the patient.  Howeve r, any change in the volume level\nbadly affects the nerves.  The ups and downs in noise level become\nunbearable.  A sudden explosion or loud noise is very harmful for\nNatrum Carb patient.  If such a pa tient is scared suddenly, his heart\nmay stop.  Therefore, one should be very careful around him.\n\nWhen the ailments of Natrum Carb become chronic, the patient starts\nto feel indifferent, even towa rds his own family members.  The\npatient feels indifferent.   The circle of friendship and relationship\nshrinks.  The situation worsens to the extent that the patient becomes\ndisgusted and disconnected from th e whole of humanity.  The patient\ncannot tolerate anyone.  Disgust is more prominent than fear.\n\nThe urine of a Natrum Carb patient smells like horse\u2019s urine.\nThis symptom is found in Benzoic Acid also.  The patient needs to\nurinate again and again , while the patient may also wet the bed\nduring the night.  Urination is associated with a scalding sensation.\n\nIn the skin diseases of Natrum Car b, swellings develop at the edges of\nthe fingers and of the toes, but esp ecially over the finger joints.  On\nthe rest of the body the s pots are itchy areas of raised circular shape\n(Urticarial).  This remedy is also useful against herpes, though it is\nnot easy to pick this remedy specifical ly from the symptoms of herpes\nalone.  If the symptoms of Natrum Carb are present in a patient and\nthe other remedies have not been effective against herpes, then\nNatrum Carb should also be tried.  Both Sodium and Carbonate are\nlinked with nerve tissue.  Since herp es is basically a disease of the\nnerves, the herpes patient can benefit from Natrum Carb.\n\nNatrum Carb plays a prominent role in the treatment of bad\naftereffects of heatstroke .  Sometimes, after a heatstroke, nasal\ncatarrh starts dripping in to the throat  and becomes a permanent\nmenace (Post-nasal drip).  For this condition, Natrum Carb is very\nuseful.  It is also very effective against bouts of headache and\nsensitivity to heat.  In Natrum Carb, raw-looking sores start to\nappear at the tip of the nose .  A peculiar symptom of this remedy is\nthat the tip of the nose always exhi bits a skin disease of one kind or\nthe other.  It is also valuable in the treatment of boils on the nose .\nOnce, a patient was not benefiting fro m Natrum Carb and so I treated\nhim with a Propolis ointment.  (Propolis is a bactericide that the\nhoneybee prepares for herself).  Hi s wounds became fully healed in\nless than a week.  Honey is extrao rdinarily effective against cancerous\nwounds and chronic sores of the eyes, etc.  Propolis is a powerful\nmedicine, but chemically it is very  light.  Once, research was carried\nout in France to find out the types of bacteria various insects carry.\nAll the insects in the world are sup posed to carry some bacteria.  The\nscientist who conducted the resear ch on honeybees was surprised to\ndiscover that there was no trace of any kind of bacteria on the body of\nthe honeybee. He found that the honeybee was absolutely free of\nbacteria.  This was an astonish ing discovery and it led to the\nbeginning of a new era of research to find out why the honeybee is\nfree from all sorts of bacteria.  The words of the Holy Quran \u201c feehi\nshifaa-unnaasi\u201d (In it lies cure for mankind) carry a deep meaning\nhidden within them.  During the rese arch in France, it was discovered\nthat the honeybee likes cleanliness so much that it puts a chemical\ncalled Propolis at the edges of each honeycomb.  The honeybee\nprepares Propolis from the wax exuding from the white eucalyptus\nand other trees and rubs it at the edges of her honeycomb.  Whenever\nthe honeybee enters the honeycomb, it puts its feet on the edge of the\nhoneycomb and does the same when it comes out of the honeycomb.\nIn doing so, the antibacterial material  (Propolis) sticks to the feet of\nthe honeybee and keeps it free of bacteria.  This is the reason why\nbacteria cannot enter the honeycomb.  After this discovery, a wise and\nable farmer in Denmark prepared a special farm and bred the\nhoneybee.  From this farm, he used to collect Propolis in large\nquantities.\n\nPropolis mixed in glycerine or vitamin E cream is very useful against\ncommon pimples and boils.\n\nIn Natrum Carb, sores not only form on the surface of the nose, but\nalso inside it.  The nasal catarrh is quite foul smelling  and becomes\nchronic.  It produces co nstant irritation in the throat.  The sense of\nsmell is also lost.\n\nUsually, the face is pale.  Ci rcles develop around the eyes.  Sores and\nblisters form inside the mouth. Natrum Carb is particularly effective\nagainst sores inside the m outh of nursing mothers.  It is also effective\nagainst the infertility of women who suffer permanently from\nleucorrhoea.  These symptoms are also found in many other remedies.\nHowever, a special symptom of Na trum Carb is that the woman\npatient is of a cold constitution, has been sterile for a long time and\nsuffers from persistent leucorrhoea .  If all these symptoms are\npresent together in a patient, then  by the grace of God, Natrum Carb\nwill be found very effective in curing her infertility.\n\nIn Natrum Carb, there is a tende ncy of permanent weakness of the\nankles (flail ankles).  In such patients, feet usually twist easily.  Such a\nweakness is a part of the patient\u2019s constitution and not due to any kind\nof accident or injury.  For this condi tion, Natrum Carb is a very useful\nremedy.  However, the most effective treatment for sprained ankles\nis Ruta or Bellis.  To abate the bad effects of severe sprains, Arnica\ngiven in a high potency, combined with Belladonna, shows positive\neffects immediately and the symptoms of the disease completely\ndisappear.  However, if these are not used in the beginning of the\ndisease, then Ruta will relieve the residual bad effects.  Sometimes, it\nbecomes necessary to treat the patient with Bellis or Rhus Tox also.\nNatrum Carb alleviates the tendency of ankle sprains due to structural\nweakness.\n\nNatrum Carb patient remains sad and worried  most of the times .\nThe patient remains deeply occupied with sad thoughts, is cowardly\nand loses the power to think and un derstand.  The mind feels fickle.\nThe cold, and any change of weather, becomes unbearable.  The\npatient becomes very restless when the clouds thunder .  Music\naggravates his symptoms .  The patient has no tolerance for certain\npeople.  The patient becomes bad te mpered and irritable after eating\nfood. The slightest mental fatigue leads to severe headache , which\nworsens in the sunlight or the la mplight.  He also feels dizzy.\nPhysical as well as mental hard wo rk, make the symptoms worse.  He\nfeels very weak and staggers while walking.  The patient feels cramps\nin the muscles and the glands beco me hard and swollen.  The patient\ndislikes the cool breeze.  Appa rently, these symptoms should not\nappear due to heatstroke; however, in some patients of Natrum Carb,\nthese are the permanent symptoms following a heatstroke.  One\nshould remember that Natrum Carb is a cold remedy by nature.\n\nIn Natrum Carb, black spots appear before the eyes.  On waking up,\nthe vision is blurred.  There is a feeling of pinpricks and burning in the\neyes.  There is a kind of pier cing pain inside the ears.  Brown moles,\nyellow spots and acne appear on the face .  Furthermore, the upper\nlip appears swollen to the touch, th e face becomes pale, blue circles\ndevelop around the eyes and the eyelids become swollen.\n\nThe stomach of the Natrum Carb patient is very sensitive to touch\nand appears to be swollen.  Drin king cold water aggravates the\nsymptoms.  The patient feels hungry in  the morning at five o\u2019 clock.\nThe digestive system becomes very weak.  The patient feels very sad\nafter eating food and the mouth tast es bitter.  Dri nking milk causes\ndiarrhoea and the patient needs to rush to the lavatory.\n\nThe cough of the Natrum Carb patient is a dry cough, which worsens\nwhen the patient enters a heated room .  The feeling of cold on the left\nside of the chest increases the coug h.  The heart palpitates quite fast\nwhen lying down on the left side at night and also on climbing the\nstairs.  The patient wakes up very early in the morning and his\nsuffering is worse by five o\u2019 clock in the morning .
