# Mercurius Dulcis

## Remedy Classification

- **Miasm:** Syphilitic Miasm
- **Temperament:** Chilly
- **Aggravation Time:** Neutral/Anytime

## Keynote Indications
Merc-d. is responsible for a large amount of the mercury treatments of the past and for
some of the present. As a comparatively mild and slow -aching form of mercurial, it has none of the corrosive
effects Merc-c., but it has all the power of the metal in it, and it has had its own share of disasters.
It was at one time almost the only recognized remedy for constipation and any affection that could be ascribed
to the liver. Some homeopaths adopted a modification of this by prescribing Merc -d. lx in two -or three-grain
doses as a direct purgative. As Merc -d. has caused both constipation and diarrhea, it is probable that the
action is roughly homeopathic.
Keynote pallor, “pale as a corpse.” A flabby, bloated appearance, ill nourished. Pale mucus membranes.
Catarrhal inflam mation of the ear. Eustachian catarrh and deafness (Kali -m.). Glue ear. Swimmer's ear

infection.
Diarrhea with soreness of anus. Prostatitis. Inflammation with peritonitis, meningitis, pleurisy. Flabby,
bloated and turgid flac- cidity. Indicated in remittent bilious fevers in peritonitis and meningitis. Biliary stasis.
For scrofulous children who are liable to remittent bilious attacks. Pale, scrofulous children who have swelling
of cervical and other glands.
