## Keynote Indications
Hering noted that lactic acid was discovered by Scheele in sour milk, the result o f the 
spontaneous fermentation of sugar of milk under the influence of casein. It is also met with in many vegetable 
products which have turned sour. 
Reisig first introduced it into homeopathy. Lactic acid has been proved in both the lower and higher potencies, 
but many valuable observations have been made on patients taking substantial doses for diabetes as it was 
often given for diabetes in the past. 
In these cases, the symptoms of rheumatic fever were directly traced to the acid. Pain, swelling, sti ffness and 
tenderness of joints, worse by motion (as with Bry., which antidotes Lac-ac.). Flying pains about limbs. 
One pro ver had pain along the right sciatic nerve. The well -known effects of milk that has soured on the 
stomach and remained undigested were produced. Nausea, vomiting, burning and sense of weight. 
Weakness, as if from exercise, aversion to exercise. Rheumatic affections. Rheumatic pains in joints, knees, 
worse by motion. Trembling of whole body, while walking. Debility, weariness of the limbs. 
Acidity. Hot acrid belchings, worse smoking. Salivation, water brash. Morning sickness. Fullness or lump like 
puff ball in throat. 
Frequent passing of large quantities of saccharine urine. Diabetes. Sweaty feet. Breast troubles.
