It is said that some\npatients of Lupus can be totally cured with  Kali Sulph.  Similarly,\nmalaria going out of hand can be treated  very well with Kali Sulph,\nprovided it fits the constitution of the patient.\n\nKali Sulph must be used in the treatment of chronic catarrhal\nconditions, especially when the discharge becomes green.\n\nKali Sulph is called the Pulsatilla of biochemy because most of its\nsymptoms resemble those of Pulsatilla, for example, the worsening of\nthe symptoms with heat, and getting relief with the cold and open air.\nThis feature is very important rega rding the diagnosis for Kali Sulph.\nThe full clinical picture of Pulsat illa would, however, distinguish it\nfrom Kali Sulph.  In other words, the presence of most but not all of\nthe symptoms of Pulsatilla would be taken as the indication for Kali\nSulph.  In this situation, it will  be found an effective treatment for\nalmost all of the diseases mentioned under the chapter of Kali Sulph.\n\nIn Kali Sulph, the muscles tend to be  flabby and without proper tone.\nKali Sulph would be useful in the treatment of patients with liver\ndisorder and dilatation of the muscles of the heart .  It will tone the\ncardiac musculature but has to be ad ministered in a low potency over\na long period.  Within a few months, the patient feels much better.  He\nfeels invigorated and to a large ex tent the fatty degeneration of the\nliver and the excessive amount of fat under the skin starts to melt\naway.  These kinds of symptoms  are more common in women,\nespecially after childbirth.  The liver becomes fatty, the muscles\nbecome flabby, the heart becomes weak, and the patient becomes\nshort of breath.  The legs of the women become heavy and swollen.\nLight touch bothers them while deep pressure offers relief.  In such\npatients, Kali Sulph being the proper analog would offer great relief.\n\nIn Kali Sulph, the headache becomes worse on movement and is\nrelieved in the open air.  The pain spreads to the eyes, forehead and on\nboth sides of the head.  The head feels tight and there is a feeling of\nbeing suffocated.  The eyelids stick together  due to a yellowish\ndischarge.  There is lot of itching and watering from the eyes.  Small\npimples form over the eyelids.  The cornea becomes hazy.  Once\nagain, if Kali Sulph is the proper match for the disposition of the\npatient, it will cure all these eye ailments.\nKali Sulph. 441\n\nThe ears discharge a yellowish coloured, offensive smelling liquid .\nThere is dryness in the middle ear.  At the outset, the discharge is\nwatery, which then becomes thick and yellowish in colour.  Once the\ndisease is well established, the discharge becomes greenish and smells\nterrible.  There is bleeding from inside the ears.  These complications\ngradually keep on progressing an d after many years, the drums\n(tympanic membrane) become thick, the discharge becomes extremely\nfoul smelling and deafness develops.  If Kali Sulph happens to be the\nappropriate matching remedy, its use in the beginning of the disease\nwill prevent all these complications.  In Kali Sulph, there is intense\nitching inside the ears and behind the ear s with lots of noises being\nheard.\n\nIn the eczema associated with Kali Sulph, boils and blisters develop.\nThere is a feeling of burning.  The skin looks like fr og\u2019s skin i.e.\nyellow in colour and without any healthy lustre.  It commonly happens\nin the diseases of the liver and the spleen.  Anaemia and tuberculosis\nalso make the face look yellow and w ithout natural glare.  This facial\nappearance helps in making the proper diagnosis.  It is an art to make\nthe diagnosis based on the faci al appearane and the symptoms\npertaining to the eye.  In Germa ny, a number of such experts can be\nfound.  Kali Sulph is very effective in the treatment of all such\ninfectious diseases , provided it is analogous to the nature of the\npatient.\n\nIn the nature of the Kali Phos patien t, there is chronic irritation of the\nbladder; urination is very frequent , and especially wo rse at night.\nThe patient sees distressing dreams.  Sleep is not peaceful.  The\npatient feels dizzy in a heated room after dinner.  The head feels tense.\nThe hair tends to fall  and there is dryness over the scalp.  The lips\nbecome fissured.  According to Dr. Kent, Kali Sulph is useful in the\ntreatment of warts over the lips .  Kali Sulph is also useful in the\ntreatment of the skin cancer called Ep ithelioma.  Blisters form inside\nthe mouth.  The tongue is covered w ith yellow sticky secretions.  The\nchest rattles though the cough is dry.  The tongue becomes dry.  The\ntonsils swell and cause difficulty in swallo wing.  The patient dislikes\neating eggs, bread, meat, hot food a nd hot drinks.  After taking food,\nthere is a feeling of pain, burning and cramping over the stomach .\nOn coughing, the patient vomits; th e vomit contains undigested food\nand the sputum from the lungs.  The abdomen becomes bloated with\nKali Sulph. 442\ngas and is tense.  The patient cannot pass flatus.  The soft pitting\nswelling, common in li ver diseases is notic ed on the face and over\ndifferent parts of the body.  The ab domen hurts at night.  Diarrhoea\nand severe constipation alternate with each other.  The piles happen to\nbe inside as well as on the outer surface of the skin and tend to bleed.\n\nIn Kali Sulph, the patient feels severe griping after having been to\nthe lavatory.  This is also common in Merc Corr.  In Merc Corr, the\npain starts during defacation a nd continues afterwards.  The stools are\nthin, darkish in colour, cause tearing pain and smell terrible.  In Kali\nSulph, there is severe itching.  The lining of the kidney tubules\nbecomes inflamed and is associated  with a light to severe kind of\npiercing pain over the kidneys.  So metimes the patient also passes\nalbumin in the urine .  The urine is deep coloured, abundant and\ncauses burning.  Sometimes, it is in th e form of a continuous dribble.\nIt looks as if the kidneys are constantly producing offensive smelling\ninfected urine.\n\nKali Sulph is also very useful in the treatment of sexual impotence\nand weakness in men.  It is also useful in the treatment of continuous\nvaginal discharge , inflammation and burning.  The uterus moves\naway from its normal position .  During menstruation, there is a\nfeeling of pain over the uterus, as  well as a feeling of downwards\npressure.\n\nInside the windpipe (trachea), the expectoration may be green, yellow\nor sometimes mucoid.  There is a feeling of dryne ss and scraping\ninside the throat which is worse on taking food and when the person is\nin bed.  There is a sort of hissing inside the trachea.  Other symptoms\nof Kali Sulph are hoarseness of voice , repeated common cold, the\nonset of asthma in a closed room and difficulty in breathing which\ngets worse on coughing, lying down, walking and in the evening.  In\nthe open, the suffering becomes less.  The cough becomes worse in\nthe presence of nasal catarrh.  On  being exposed to cold, the chest\nrattles.  There is a feeling of c hoking, burning pain and unease.  The\ncough at night is dry while in the morning there is a lot of\nexpectoration with it .  The ailments become aggravated with a\nsudden change in weather or if it becomes too cold.  However,\nnormally, the symptoms of Kali Sul ph become worse in hot weather\nlike Pulsatilla, as if this remedy is full of contradictions.   Regarding\nthe nature of the patient and the severity of thirst, it shows the same\nKali Sulph. 443\nkind of contradiction.  It can be of great use for patients of the soft and\nsallow temperament of Pulsatilla, as well as for patients with the\nnature of irritability and anger.  Ag ain, like in Pulsatilla, thirst may be\nabsent or sometimes very severe  and non-relenting.  The mouth\nremains dry and the stomach is consta ntly on fire.  In view of this\nbizarre nature of Kali Sulph, I have already warned the readers that to\nunderstand Kali Sulph is not an easy job.
