In the brain, nerves, muscles and\nblood especially, its mere presence is not enough, rather, it has to be in\na state of equilibrium.  It plays an essential, prominent role in the\ndevelopment of human life.  Whil e its deficiency causes numerous\nneurological and mental disorder s, its excess, too, is sometimes\nextremely lethal.  Its chemical na me is Potassium Phosphate, though\nin homoeopathy it is known as Kali Phos.\n\nKali Phos is a renowned nerve tonic .  It is an antipsoric remedy,\nmeaning that it is effective against skin conditions which, when\nforcefully suppressed, can inflict th e inner linings of the body and the\nnervous system.  Though homoeopaths cl assify it as antipsoric, yet it\nis mainly related to the nerves.  By nature it gives strength to the\nnerves and on the same basis, it has antipsoric effects.  For example, if\nany illness remains suppressed due to the weakness of the nerves, and\nthe body is too weak to expel it, Kali Phos will throw it out on the\nskin.\n\nKali Phos works on the brain , the nerves and the blood.  It is\nsurprisingly effective in the treatment  of mental and physical fatigue.\nIt is useful for the treatment of ailments resulting from anxiety,\nconfusion, overwork and mental anguis h.  By nature, a patient of Kali\nPhos is lazy and fearful .  He feels nervous to meet people, loses his\nmemory and becomes indifferent to his work.\n\nIn Kali Phos ailments become aggravated by resting in the cold and\nhumid weather.  These symptoms ar e also seen in Rhus Tox, but in\nRhus Tox the patient tosses and turns all night because of the\nincreasing discomfort. Whereas, in Kali Phos, the sufferings build up\nall night and then forcefully express themselves in the morning when\nthe patient wakes up.  So the discomfo rt is at its peak in the morning\nand then gradually abates.  The gradual increment of the disease is an\nimportant sign of Kali Phos.  In a pa tient of Rhus Tox, the discomfort\nis worst at the onset of movement and gradually improves on walking.\nA patient of Kali Phos gets relieved  with slow movement.  Like Rhus\nKali Phos. 432\nTox, there is a tingling and numbness of the hands and feet  as well\nas the flaccidity of the muscles.  All kinds of body excretions have a\nfoul odour in Kali Phos.  In Rhus Tox, however, there is no such foul\nodour.  Rhus glaba and foul odour are very deeply related.  Many\nantipsoric medicines are used for tr eating the foul smelling secretions\nof the armpits (due to the infected sebaceous glands in the axilla).  But\nRhus Glabra in potency 3X or 6X and Kali Phos in 6X are extremely\neffective when given together.  Kali Phos is also deeply related to foul\nsmell.\n\nKali Phos is also very useful in the treatment of gangrene.  In the\nallopathic system, the trea tment of infected indolent ulcers that\nbecome necrotic and gangrenous is amputation.  But amputation is\nusually performed through a health y area of good circulation, well\nabove the gangrenous area.  In many such patients, I have successfully\nobviated the need for amputation with the use of Kali Phos and\nSilicea.\n\nAllah, the Almighty has created a ve ry elaborate immune system in\nour body against diseases.  The cure  is not obtainabl e without these\nantibodies.  When a disease ha s knocked down the body defence to\nthe extent that it cannot react any more, any amount of antibiotics\ngiven will be ineffective because body can no longer react.  Similarly,\nin the case of gangrene, the immune  system of the body is completely\ndamaged.  Kali Phos revives the immune system and empowers the\ntissues to defend.  Consequently, the body starts defending itself\nagainst the gangrenous process.  Silicea also works well once the\ntissues become strong again.\n\nKali Phos is also useful in the treatment of inflamed lymph glands .\nSometimes the glands become infl amed on both sides of the neck.\nThis also happens in the case of t uberculosis and cancer.  In these\npatients, Silicea alone can lead to serious consequences.  Therefore,\nmany other medicines are given before or along with Silicea.  One of\nthem is definitely Kali Phos.  Kali Phos streamlines the reaction of the\nbody towards Silicea.  In my opinion, this  method is very effective.  It\nis also possible to give Kali Phos before Silicea and prepare the\npatient for proper reaction.  In this s ituation, it is better to give Kali\nPhos 1000 and wait for a few days.  Sometimes this alone produces\nmiraculous results, and a single dose starts decreasing the size of the\nlymph nodes.  At this time, we do not even need to give Silicea.\nKali Phos. 433\nAnother dose of Kali Phos can be rep eated after eight to ten days.  As\nlong as the size of the lymph nodes is  reducing, we do not need to add\nanother medicine.  Kali Phos is no t only effective in the treatment of\nsuperficial glands, but it also affect s the glands of the internal organs\nand uterus.  When the glands look  like they are transforming into\ncancer, Kali Phos must be kept in mind because of its beneficial effect\non the healing of cancerous ulcers.\n\nKali Phos resembles Agaricus to so me extent.  The twitching of the\nmuscles of the face may require Kali Phos, Agaricus or similar\nmedicines.\n\nKali Phos, like Ambra Grisea, is al so useful to alleviate the ill\neffects of a serious accident or a bad news .  The development of\nsuch a mental shock is an important sign of Kali Phos.  Kali Carb is\nthe best remedy for any gastric or heart ailment resulting from sad\nnews.  Natrum Mur is also usef ul for the mental disturbance\nconsequent upon sad news.  Sad news  or grief due to shock does not\naffect everybody uniformly.  In Kali Phos, sudden shocking news\nafflicts the mind and the patient suffers from sadness and weakness\nfor a long, long time.  In a patient of  Natrum Mur, the grief results in\ninsanity.\n\nKali Phos is very useful in the treatment of mental stress and severe\nfatigue.  My late father had a pres cription devised for nervous\nweakness and this should be remembered i.e. Kali Phos 6X and\nCalcaria Phos 6X, Mag Phos 6X, combined and taken two to three\ntimes a day.  This can relieve all kinds of nervous exhaustions.\n\nIn Kali Phos, the memory can be affected temporarily  without the\nnarrowing of the blood vessels of the brain.  This is not permanent.\nWhile someone is seriously thinking over a particular matter and then\nsuddenly his attention gets diverted to  another focus, he fails to recall\nthe desired name or word that he is  looking for.  The reason is that the\nmind, being busy in another thought does not concentrate on the new\nthought immediately.  This is due to the mental stress and not due to\narteriosclerosis (narrowing of the cerebral blood vessels).  Besides\nKali Phos, Caladium is very useful in the treatment of this transient\nailment.  In Kali Phos, the patient may feel dizzy suddenly, reminding\none of Bryonia.  The dizziness on sudden standing up, lowering of the\nhead or movement of the head from side to side is a sign of Kali Phos,\nKali Phos. 434\nBryonia and many other homoeopathic remedies.  Nux Vomica is also\nvery good for the treatment of dizzi ness.  Sometimes the head feels\nheavy and there is loss of bala nce and unsteadiness on walking.\nMovement of the head leads to the sensation of vertigo.  Similarly,\nwhen the distension of the abdomen  suddenly jolts the stomach, this\nmovement can also lead to unstead iness and dizziness.  In this\nsituation, Nux Vomica works immedi ately and effectively.  If the\ndizziness is only because of  nervous exhaustion, Kali Phos should\nbe the top priority.\n\nIf any ailment is aggravated by motion and there is dizziness during\ntravelling, both Cocculus and Bryonia are useful. When unsteady, the\npatient of Kali Phos tends to fall forwards.  Some just tend to bend\nbackwards.  This tendency of theirs to bend back, sometimes changes\nto the tendency to fall forwards.  The patient of Kali Phos is in general\nvery intelligent and adapts to bending forwards for the fear of falling\nbackwards, which results in a forward fall.\n\nIn the neurogenic pains  of the face (trigeminal neuralgia), besides\nKali Phos, Phosphorus, Silicea, Spigelia and Magnesium Phos are also\nvery useful.  Mag Phos is also deep ly related to the nerves.  For the\ntreatment of restlessness and muscular cramping, it is more useful,\ncompared to Kali Phos. Kali Phos is also associated with tonic\ncontractions of the muscles, whic h it relieves in homoeopathic and\nbiochemic forms.  The convulsions of  Kali Phos are usually related to\nthe lower parts of the body, namely the thighs, calves and feet.  The\nmuscular spasms of Mag Phos are mo re generalised and can affect the\nintestines as well. Kali Phos also works well on the infections of the\nkidneys.  In Mag Phos, in addition to the hyperexcitability, there may\nbe other factors that lead to violent muscle spasms.\n\nIn typhoid, deep ulcers form inside the mouth .  The tongue looks\nfilthy and smells foul.  These signs are also seen in Kali Phos.  Lack\nof body immunity leads to the spread of toxins into the blood, sepsis,\nand oral thrush (fungal infection of the tongue).  Another sign of Kali\nPhos is that the patient feels hungry but does not want to eat anything.\nThis is common in very sensitive types of people.  Slim, skinny boys\nand girls, who are over-sensitive and are teased by others, react\nagainst food, refusing to eat impo rtant nutrients.  These children\nbecome anorexic because of hypersensitivit y. Kali Phos is the best\nremedy for such children.  Initially, it should be given in potency 6X.\nKali Phos. 435\nAfter it has shown some benefici al effect, another dose in high\npotency will show surprisingly good re sults.  For the anorexia, due to\na stomach or liver disorder, Nux Vo mica is the best.  The effect of\nNux Vomica on sleep is similar to that of Kali Phos.  Nux Vomica is\nuseful in treating the insomnia and restlessness aris ing from drinking\ntea or coffee, but in case of inso mnia due to nervousness and anxiety,\nKali Phos should be used.\n\nThe patients of Kali Phos and Arse nic are usually very neat and tidy\nbut unfortunately their body secretions become very foul smelling and\nputrid during the severity of the illness and fever.  Because the foul\nsmell of secretions is common in other medicines too, one should not\nconsider the foul smell as a diag nostic sign for Kali Phos.  Most\nbodily secretions happen to be foul  smelling in contagious diseases\nand infections. Kali Phos ranks high in the cure of such a patient.\nFerrum Phos 6X and Kali Phos6X combined given five to six times a\nday along with Pyrogenium 200 and Typhoidinum 200, work very\nwell in a typhoid patient who has a tendency towards constipation.\nThe patient of Kali Phos likes cold and sour drinks.\n\nKali Phos is very effective in the inflammatory conditions of the\nliver and the intestines .  It also works for irritable bowel syndrome\n(an intestinal disorder of psychologi cal origin).  One or two doses of\nKali Phos are very effective in the treatment of acute dysenteric\nsymptoms associated with severe cramps in the abdomen (tenesmus).\nIt should be remembered that Kali Phos and nothing else will work for\ngastro-intestinal disturbances associated with nervousness and\nanxiety. Kali Phos should especial ly be used when all other similar\nmedicines have failed. Kali Phos is usually used as a tonic in\ncombination with Mag Phos and Calacarea Phos.  But if the symptoms\nof Kali Phos are obvious, then the ef fect of Kali Phos would diminish\nin the presence of other medicines.  In this situation, one should keep\nin mind that if the diagnosis is correct then that one particular\nmedicine could hit the target, with the blessings of Allah.  One or two\ndoses can cure the patient, and if by chance it does not help, then other\nappropriate medicines should be sought.\n\nRegarding the disease pattern of so me medicines, the symptoms shift\nfrom right to left or from left to right.  In Kali Phos, like Lachesis, the\nsymptoms move from left to right.  In Kali Phos, it is not the disease\nitself which transfers from left to right but simply the pain moves from\nKali Phos. 436\nleft to right, while in Lachesis, the disease itself tends to shift from left\nto right.\n\nIn the diarrhoea of Kali Phos associated with fear and anxiety , the\nstools are watery and foul smelling causing weakness.  The dysentery\nin Kali Phos is associated with th e passage of mucous without blood,\nbut sometimes there could be fresh bleeding.   It is the irritation of the\nnerves in the walls of the intestines that increases their mobility.  The\nadjacent loops of the gut rub against each other, causing inflammation,\nproduction of mucous and then bleeding.\n\nKali Phos works on the bladder rendered irritable due to exposure\nto cold.  Some people suffer from frequent  urination, more so in cold\nweather.  On exposure to the cold, the bladde r becomes irritable,\nleading to the frequent passage of  urine but there is no associated\nburning.  The urine is cl ear like water, showing that there is no\ninfection.  Instead it is mere irritation of the bladder.  As in the\ncommon cold, there is excessive running of the nose but no physical\ndiscomfort.  It is the frequent  wiping of the nose that causes\ninflammation inside the nose.  If this bladder condition of a Kali Phos\npatient does not abate soon, inflamma tion will ensue; even infection\ncan set in.  Sometimes in a patient of Kali Phos, the headache\nresulting from mental fatigue ma y apparently get better but the\nassociated mental stress becomes directed towards the kidneys.  As a\nresult of this, the patient passes  an abundant amount  of urine every\nfew minutes or so (polyuria).  Su ch episodes occur in people involved\nin serious literary work.  Highly in tellectual work and mental anguish\nmay cause migraine or headache or sometimes frequent urination.\n\nKali Phos is also the remedy for sexual weakness resulting from\nnervous tension . Kali Phos should also be remembered in women\nwho tend to abort .  In general, in the beginning of pregnancy,\nViburnum Opulus Q is used to prevent the abortion.  In the second and\nthird month, Sabinais used, while in the fourth and fifth months, Kali\nCarb is used.  However if the abor tions occur because of the patient\nbeing highly-strung and anxious, Kali Phos would be the best\ntreatment.\n\nKali Phos is deeply related to the aborting tendency secondary to\nmental stress.  These women should be made to take Kali Phos 1000\n(even when not pregnant) once or twice a month.  At the onset of\nKali Phos. 437\nbleeding during pregnancy, Kali P hos should be combined with\nFerrum Phos.\n\nKali Phos is also worth remembering in the treatment of angina.  In\nangina, it should be combined with Mag Phos but other appropriate\nmedicines may be used.\n\nThe acne and boils of Kali Phos  are more on the abdomen and the\nback rather then on the face or othe r areas.  Initially Kali Phos alone\nshould be used for this, but other medicines should be looked for if\nthere is no relief.\n\nWhen the skin diseases become suppressed and migrate to the\ndeep internal organs, the nervous system becomes inflicted and loses\nits normal function.  The body be comes cold and unable to defend\nitself.  Kali Carb and Psori num are among those homoeopathic\nremedies that can immediately warm up the body and surface the\ndisease out onto the skin. Kali Phos would certainly be indicated when\ndiseases like measles and chicken pox, originating from the deep\norgans do not manifest their signs on the skin due to the suppressed\nnervous system. Kali Phos is completely different from Psorinum and\nother such medicines in its action.\n\nSome homoeopath physicians wa rn that Kali Phos and other\npotassium salts should not be used dur ing a fever, but this is only true\nwhen the temperature is rising  in the early stage of the disease.\nOnce the fever starts lowering, any proper medication can be given to\nits advantage.\n\nRegarding the loss of memory  and nervous breakdown, Kali Phos\nshould be used in potency CM.\n\nKali Phos, Calcarea Phos and Ferru m Phos combined in 6X potency\nare useful for the correction of anaemia and the general well being of\nchildren.  If the child is congenitally weak, then one should also add\nSilicea.  In the case of premature children, most of their organs, which\nwere supposed to develop in the uterus, remain weak.  Silicea is very\nuseful to strengthen them.  It is  a very good remedy to improve such\ncongenital weaknesses.\n\nKali Phos. 438\nKali Phos is also useful in the treatment of Puerperal fever alongside\nPyrogenium and Sulphur.\n\nPotency:  6X to 30, 200, 1000, 10 0000 or 100 000 as indicated","modalities":"","symptoms_by_system":[],"schema_version":"1.0","api_provider":"Allahshafi"}
