## Remedy Classification
- **Type:** Homeopathic Remedy
- **Miasm:** Emotional Miasm
- **Temperament:** Chilly

## Keynote Indications
Like all potash salts, this weakens the heart and lowers temperature. Causes brominism.
Symptoms of allopathic overdoses are added to the proving sy mptoms and the clinical experience of
homeopaths.
Alberton noted that Kali -br. has been given allopathically in epileptic and other convulsive disorders with the
idea of over whelming the disease rather than of curing it. The effect has been to reduce or p revent the
recurrence of epileptic attacks at the expense of keeping the patient constantly under the influence of the drug
and producing a state of mental imbecility, “decreasing the excitability and power of the motor cells of
the brain.”
Hare noted that the keynotes for the bromides include general weakness and feebleness of the nervous
system, post typhoid and post -puerperal insanity, senile softening of the brain and irritation of the gastro -
intestinal mucus membrane.
Kali-br. affects the mind and nerves, producing failure of mental power, loss of memory. Melancholy.
General numbness and anesthesia of mucus membranes especially of eyes, throat and skin.
Skin eruptions, psoriasis. Acne, especially at puberty and at the menstrual period. Clarke knew of no remedy
of such universal useful ness in cases of simple acne as in Kali -br. 30c. Moist eruptions and pityriasis of the
scalp. Seborrhea. Erythema nodosum.
Epilepsy, associated with sexual excess or abuse in men and with menses in women. Attacks during the new
moon, followed by headaches. Onset of diseased condition is slow without any pain. Convulsions. Parkinson's
disease. Numbness of whole
body. Symptoms of strokes. Paralysis. Aphasia, somnolence and stertor. Loss of se xual desire. Sexual
fantasies, satyriasis and nymphomania. Uremia. Albuminuria. Nodular form of chronic gout.
