The patient may \nbecome cachectic and the condition can resemble typhoid fever. \nWenzel Heyberger recorded a case of diabetes in a woman, 68, cured with Kali - br. The patient had been ill \nfive months and was reduced to a skeleton. She first noticed a remarkably good appetite, but after meals had \nheartburn and belchings. \nShe had polyuria and frequent distur bances at night to pass water. Weak in the head, confused, memory  \nimpaired. Vision was almost gone. Rushing and roaring in ears. Tormenting thirst. Stools difficult and delayed. \nPowders medicated with Kali-br. 2c were given, one every six hours. \nThe first night the patient slept without disturbance and the quantity of urine and proportion of sugar diminished. \nAfter about six weeks, the improvement seemed to stop and Kali -br. was given in allopathic doses, but this \naggravated the condition.
