## Keynote Indications
It is not possible to separate entirely the pathogenesis of Kali -ar. and Ars. Kali -ar. is the 
favorite form in which arsenic is prescribed by the allopaths, consequently the bulk of observations from over-
dosing are due to this preparation, named Liquor arsenicalis, considered arsenic and nothing else. 
Much of our knowledge relating to this remedy comes to us from the effects of overdosing and protracted use 
of the medi cine on patients suffering from chronic skin and blood diseases. The arsenic symptoms 
predominate. 
Epithelioma developed in a patient after prolonged treatment with allopathic Kali -ar. for psoriasis. 
During treatment for right-sided herpes, patients noted color changes in their eyes and skin. Sclerotics became 
thick and yellow instead of clear and bluish. The iris, which was blue, became gray. Skin, instead of being fair 
and florid, became muddy and older looking. 
Tendency towards anxiety and skin dis eases. Restless, nervous. Great weakness. Emaciation, anemia. 
Faintness. Neurasthe nia. Chilly and sensitive to cold.  Cannot get too warm even in summer. Tremors. 
Sudden noise or touch throws the whole body into a tremor. 
Inveterate skin diseases, malignant tendency. Intolerable itching, worse undressing, walking, warmth. Chronic 
eczema. Psorias is. Herpes zoster, measles, miliary rash. Epithelioma. Numerous small nodules under the 
skin. Gouty nodosities. Rheumatic, gouty and syphilitic pains. Varicose veins. Dropsy.  
Cauliflower-like excrescences of os uterus with flying pains, foul smelling disch arges and pressure below the 
pelvis. Black leg ulcer running bloody, foul water with cutting, burning, itching and dyspnea. Phagedenic ulcers, 
 
 
deep base and turned up edges. 
Burning in throat. The tongue burns, numb. Tongue neuralgia. Exophthalmos, eye aff ections. Deafness. 
Aching in stomach. Passes much gas, then diarrhea. Bright's disease. Palpitations with nephritis. All the 
sufferings are worse at night.

## Modalities (Aggravations / Ameliorations)
Better on rainy days. Aver sion to open air. Worse touch, lying down, warmth of bed, warmth, 
cold feet, noise. Worse after midnight, from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m.

### Vertigo
- Vertigo while walking in the open air.
- COMMENTS - Cases of Kali-ar.
- poisoning with massive doses present nothing to distinguish them from cases 
of other arsenical prepara tions, but Kali -ar.
- has had a short proving and a number of cases of allopathic 
provings are on record.
- Jonathan Hutchinson recorded a number  of cases of right -sided herpes.
- One of his patients observed that, 
while taking Kali- ar., her sclerotics became thick and yellow instead of clear and bluish.
- The iris, which was 
blue, became more gray.
- Her skin, instead of being fair and florid, became m uddy and older looking.
- This was a mystery to Hutchinson as he usually gave Kali -ar.
- to make the skin clearer, but he was compelled 
to record the fact, though he did not apparently perceive the homeopathic solution of the mystery.
- Hutchinson also noted cases of epithelioma developing after prolonged medication with Kali -ar.

- was reproduced in the right -sided 
herpes, repeatedly noticed by Hutchinson, but there was a left-sided headache.

### Head
- Headache from gastric causes or catarrh.
- Headache in left parietal bone, as if it was sore and pressed 
upon by hand.

- Headaches better sitting, external heat, 
hot drinks and wrapping up head.

### Mouth
- In middle, towards tip of tongue, a smooth, red spot with troublesome burning and numb ness.

- Pulsating and tearing pain, radiates to 
ears, head and temples.
- Gums swollen and tender.
- Nose - Colds.

### Throat
- Some gastric cough and frequent raking of throat and fauces of a mucopurulent secretion mixed with 
specks of blood.

- Throat constricted with copious flow of saliva.
- Complete aphonia, following skin affection.
- Tongue - Tongue clear, whitish, red like raw beef.

### Chest
- Heart attacks with anxiety and fear.

### Urinary & Genital
- Cauliflower excrescences of uter ine cervix with flying pains, foul smelling discharge and pressure 
below pubis.
- Menses absent.
- Milk entirely arrested.

### Extremities
- Gouty nodosities, worse change of weather.
- Crampy feeling of lower limbs with partial loss of motion 
and sensation, livid in places, tending to slough.
- Aching pain in right shoulder and elbow, followed by herpetic 
eruption.
- Knees bent up so he could not move his feet.
- Swollen ankles.
- Palms and soles speckled over with 
corns.
- Varicose veins of legs.
- Ulcers on legs with general psoriasis.
- Black ulcer on leg, running bloody, foul 
water, with cutting, burning, itching and dyspnea.

### Neck & Back
- Backache with sciatica, worse pressure.
- Much pain and tenderness down spine.

### Skin
- Dry, scaly, wilted skin.
- Acne, pustules worse during menses.
- Chronic eczema, intolerable itching, 
worse from warmth,  walking, undressing.
- Psoriasis, lichen.
- Psoriasis in numerous patches, with great

- Discoloration of skin after psoriasis.
