## Keynote Indications
Juni-c. has notbeen proved, but sufficient is known of its action to warrant its inclusion and 
to show the analogy between 
its action and that of Sabina. 
Hale commended it in certain coughs with scanty, loaded urine. He said German doctors used juniper in gastric 
affections, abdominal flatulence and colic. Catarrhal inflammation of kidneys. Dropsy with suppression of urine. 
Elderly persons with poor digestion and scanty secretion of urine. Chronic pyelitis.

## Symptoms by System

### Chest
- Painful ribs and sternum from coughing attacks (Bry.).
- Kidneys - Nephritis.
- Strangury, bloody, scanty urine, violet odor (Tereb.).
- Weight in  kidney region.
- Pyelitis.
- Kidney hyperemia (Eucal.).
- Severe, painful coughs.
- Cough with scanty, loaded urine.

### Urinary & Genital
- Prostatic discharge.
- Nose - Coryza.
- Hay fever.
- Allergies.
- Violent sneezing from cedar pollen.
- Comments - Hale wrote, “I have known cases of dysmenorrhea and uterine hemorrhage cured by the common 
Juniper, and I have treated some kidney and bladder difficulties with Juniper.
- The popularity of pure gin in 
dysmenorrhea is owing to the effects of the oil of Juniper berries which it conta ins.
- “In domestic practice, an infusion of Juniper leaves and berries is used success fully in amenorrhea and 
dysmenorrhea, as well as retention, suppression, and other urinary troubles.
- “In some cases of dropsy, a tincture of the berries, or the oil of Ju niper, will act on the kidneys favorably after 
the failure of other medicines.
- “We ought to have provings of the common Juniper, and give it a place in our Materia Medica.
- I would also 
suggest that the tincture be made from equal parts by weight of the fresh berries and green leaves.
- The Oil of 
Juniper of commerce is made from the berries alone.
- “German physicians make much use of Juniper in gastric complaints, in abdominal flatulence, colics, and even 
in some hepatic affections.
- I know that the 3x of Oleum juniperus is useful in certain coughs, with scanty urine, 
loaded with solid matters.”
