Source: Derived from the root of  Hydrastis canadensis , a perennial herb in the Ranunculaceae. family, native to North America, prepared for homeopathic use through maceration, serial dilution,. and succussion to eliminate toxicity and enhance therapeutic action. Traditional Context: Historically employed in homeopathy for  mucosal, digestive, respiratory,. psychological,  and  systemic  disorders,  particularly  those  involving  chronic  catarrh,  digestive. weakness,  and  mental  depression.  It  is  noted  for  symptoms  such  as  thick,  tenacious  mucus,. constipation, gastric distress, and low mood, often aggravated by warmth, night, or fasting, and. ameliorated by cool air, rest, or gentle motion. - Affinity for stomach, liver and colon cancer (Cadm.).
