Wants cold air down the throat or craves cold drinks. \nCOMMENTS - The potencies of this nosode are prepared either from the diphtheria bacte ria or membrane s \nfrom an affected patient. It was first made from the membrane from a case of malignant diphtheria, trimrated \nwith milk sugar to the 6c, then potentized by Swan. \nDiphtherinum has cured of diphtheria and post -diphtheria disorders to its credit. These potencies have been \nvery effective not only in malignant diphtheria but in many cases of post -diphtheria paralysis and nervous \ndisorders following the use of anti-toxin. \nClarke wrote that, in diphtheria, the malignancy is present from the start. The well-known features of diphtheria \nmust be the guide to the use of this nosode. He noted that it will, most likely, be found useful in the par alysis \nof diphtheria and other similar spinal affections. \nO. A. Julian described his own research and clinical experiences as a practicing doctor in his village between \n1935and 1939 where he had to treat cases of diphtheria. \nThe indications he gave are chi efly clinical, including a fluctuating temperature, very little pain, membrane in \nvertical folds on posterior wall of throat. When the membrane first appeared, it spread forward as far as the \nborder of the tonsils and began to fade and disappear first from the center of posterior pharynx. \nDiphtheria (Apis., Lac -c.). Patient lies in a semi -\nstupid con dition, eyes dull, besotted (Apis., Bapt.). Nosebleeds or profound prostration from very onset of \nattack (Ail., Apis., Carb -ac.), collapse almost at very beginning (Crot., Merc -cy.).
