Regarding its effects on the skin, it resembles Rhus Tox, but\nis much more powerful.  It is effective against the tendency to develop\ncancer, especially the skin cancer called Epithelioma.  In Clematis,\nthe skin symptoms become worse on exposure to cold water, cold\nweather or cold air, except the probl em inside the mouth.  The pain in\nthe gums is relieved by applicati on of cold water, whereas heat\naggravates it.\n\nThe blisters of Clematis tend to make yellowish pus.  Conditions like\nringworm and different kinds of eczema are also well within the range\nof action of Clematis.  Red pimples form over the skin, which burn\nintensely.  These pimples form mostly over the head, hands and face.\nWith the exception of eczema, there is a feeling of something creeping\nover the skin.  Scratching offers temporary relief.  There is pain over\nthe temples and dispersion of thoughts.  Open air offers relief.\n\nClematis is used in many diseases of men relating to the reproductive\nsystem, especially the inflammation of the right spermatic cord and\ninflammatory swelling of the right testis (orchitis).  It only acts on the\nright side.  The associated urinary symptoms may be sensitivity along\nthe urethra and frequency of scanty  urination followed by scalding at\nthe end.  The flow of urine is rather interrupted and sometimes may be\nin the form of drops, and the dri bbling may continue for a minute or\ntwo after the act of urin ation.  It is also e ffective in treating the\ninflammation of the bladder on the right side.\n\nThe overall symptoms of Clematis are the same as that of\nsuppressed Gonorrhoea.\n\nThe toothache of Clematis gets worse at night and with the smell of\ntobacco, especially when the bed is warm.\n\nIn Clematis, the eyes burn severely  and feel warm as if on fire.  A\ndraft of wind is unbearable.  Eyes water and swell, especially the left\neye.  The patient feels difficulty in opening the eyes.\n\nA peculiar symptom in Clematis is  that the patient feels generally\nweak after taking food.  The arteries  throb and pulsate.  The patient\nfeels full as soon as he takes food.  There is a strong, piercing type of\npain from the chest down to the abdomen , getting worse on\nbreathing in.\n\nThe characteristic point about Clematis is that its symptoms\naggravate in proportion to  the size of the moon .  The symptoms\nalso become worse after taking a shower.\n\nOne thing to be remembered about Clematis is that when it is\nadministered to the patients, their mouth feels very dr y and they feel\nthirsty.  The resulting thirst will not be quenched by taking water.
