It has a very pungent smell.  Usage in homoeopathy\nis quite different.  Carbolic Acid in Homoeopathic form is the best\ntreatment for severe allergic reaction to a sting by a bee or a wasp.  A\ndose or two can offer complete cure.\n\nCarbolic Acid acts on the sensory perceptions of the body .  Its\npatient has an unusually sharp sense of smell.  The normally\nimperceptible smell may easily be noticed by the patient of Carbolic\nAcid.\n\nIn Carbolic Acid, the pain is severe and sudden in nature.  It comes on\nsuddenly and disappears just as fast .  Some parts of the body may be\nnumb.  Some parts feel as  if tied in a rubber ba nd.  Carbolic Acid has\nbeen found very useful in the treatment of mouth ulcers.\n\nThere is neuralgic type of pain in and around the eye .  Carbolic\nAcid would prove very useful in tr eating such a pain that has settled\ninside the eye.\n\nOne symptom of Carbolic Acid is that there is complete loss of\nappetite.  The abdomen becomes distended with gas .  Excessive\namount of distension of the abdomen in  a localised area is typical of\nCarbolic Acid because Carbolic Acid causes spasmodic constriction of\nthe intestines at different places.  The gas gets loculated between the\nso formed constriction rings. Ca rbolic Acid should be well-\nremembered for treating such sicknesses.\n\nThe Carbolic Acid patient has a ba d taste in the mouth.  There is no\nsense of thirst, and a loss of appe tite.  Sometimes, he experiences\nsevere constipation and at  other times, severe diarrhoea.  The stools\nsmell very offensive.  In the case of constipation, even the breath\nsmells foul.  What this shows is th at the foul gases cannot be expelled\nnaturally.  Instead, they become absorbed through the walls of the\nintestines and reach the lungs via the blood, resulting in bad breath.\n\nCarbolic Acid is very important for treating albumin in the urine.\nSome patients excrete so much albu min in the urine that it becomes\ndark like black ink.  Terebinthina t oo, is very useful in treating this\ncondition.  The Carbolic Acid patien t frequently gets up at night to\npass urine, which may ve ry well be due to enlargement of the\nprostate gland .
