It is of immense value in the industrial\nworld.  In the human body, it is deeply  related to the diseases of the\nteeth, bone, and elastic layer of the skin, muscles and the blood\nvessels.  In its deficiency, the gl ands become stone hard while the\nteeth and the bones become brittle .  Homoeopathic potency of\nCalcarea Fluor is the best remedy to dispel the hardening of the\nmuscles.  It is related to the function of  almost every part of the body.\nIn particular, it is very  important for the proper development of the\nbones.  In Calcarea Fluor patients, spurs form over the surface of the\nbones, and the veins become tortuous and knotty.  The uterus loses its\ntone and tends to sag downwards.  The nails become ugly.  Hard\nlumps form in the breasts of women .  Moreover, Calcarea Fluor\nshould be used in this and other conditions that tend to become\ncancerous in nature.  I have seen many patients whose swelling at the\nwrist (Ganglion) had become very hard. Previously I used to prescribe\nRuta or similar medications, but these did not work satisfactorily.\nWith the use of Calcarea Fluor, almo st every patient benefited.  Some\npatients develop lumps in the folds of the knees (Baker\u2019s cyst) .\nCalcarea Fluor works very well for the treatment of such lumps.  As\nwell as other indicated remedies, Ca lcarea Fluor should also be used\nin the treatment of fibroids of the uterus .  Sometimes, Calcarea\nFluor on its own may prove very effective.\n\nCalcarea Fluor is also very useful in the treatment of injuries to the\nretina of the eye , especially if the margins have rather hardened.\nStars seem to be dancing before th e eyes.  Spots may also develop on\nthe cornea.  Calcarea Fluor should also be remembered in the\ntreatment of the hardening of the blood vessels of the eyes .\nRigidity in the eardrums, ringing in  the ears, discharge from the ears\nand the enlargement of the adenoid glands (behind the nose) can be\ntreated with Baryta Carb as well as Calcarea Fluor.  If the glands have\ngradually become enlarged  and hardened , then Calcarea Fluor is\nthe ideal remedy.  During nasal cold, the discharge stinks and has a\ndeep green colour.  The bones of  the cheeks and jaws become\ninflamed, teeth hurt and the gums swell up.  The tongue becomes\n\nCalcarea Fluorica 178\nhard and inflamed , the teeth become loose and hurt when eating\nfood.  The pain in the throat  eases after swallowing hot liquids and\nbecomes worse with cold drinks.\n\nCalcarea Fluor is also related to the functioning of the reproductive\norgans in the males as well as females.  Sometimes, varicose veins\nwith a tendency to bleed can develop in the external genitalia .\nCalcarea Fluor and Baryta Carb both can be useful in the treatment of\nthis condition.\n\nCalcarea Fluor is useful in the treatment of haemorrhoids  that are\nnot only heavily swollen but also  hardened.  Similarly, if the thyroid\ngland is enlarged and hardened like a stone it can also be treated with\nCalcarea Fluor.  Once I saw a pa tient whose haemorrhoids had\nbecome hard like a stone. I gave him Calcarea Fluor 1000.\nIncidentally, he had also an enlargement of the thyroid , which he\nused to keep covered under a sc arf.  I had no knowledge of the\nenlargement of his thyroid gland.  After the treatment with Calcarea\nFluor, the patient contracted high fe ver.  Being a brave person he did\nnot mind it.  He understood that the high fever was due to the\nmedicine and did not go for any othe r kind of treatment.  Within a\nweek, the fever subsided completely, the haemorrhoids became soft\nand regressed, and the goitre (enlarge ment of the thyroid gland) also\ndisappeared as well.  Only the skin covering the thyroid became baggy\ndue to the decrease of the size of th e thyroid underneath it.  Later on,\nthis also adjusted to its normal configuration.  Similarly I treated a 90-\nyear-old man suffering from cataract with Calcarea Fluor and Zincum\nSulph in CM potency.  By G od\u2019s grace, his cataract cleared\ncompletely and it never recurred for the rest of his life.  Apparently,\nsurgery on the eye was contra-indicated  in view of his old age.  It\nmust be remembered that Calcarea Fl uor is useful in the treatment of\ncataract but not useful in the treat ment of glaucoma.  Cataract and\nglaucoma are different diseases with different aetiology.\n\nIn Calcarea Fluor, the patient  has the tendency to be nauseated and\nvomits, and children in particular vomit undigested food.\nOverwhelmed with studies children can become mentally exhausted\nand then tend to feel nauseous and vomit.  The patient may suffer\nfrom rheumatism along with diarrhoea.  The haemorrhoids are\nassociated with pain in the ba ck and the lower part of the\nabdomen.  The backache becomes worse in the early part of\n\nCalcarea Fluorica 179\nmovement and gets better on moving around.  In  children, the\nbackbone may become inflamed and the thighbone (femur) also\nbecomes thickened and painful.  There is pain in the lower back and\nstiffness of the neck.  Nodules fo rm over the joints of the fingers\n(Heberden\u2019s nodes).  The patient experiences severe pain in the\nknees and the legs .  The feet sweat and stink.  Warts grow on the\nhands, arms, legs and over the back.\n\nIn Calcarea Fluor, there is patchy de -pigmentation of the skin.  The\nskin around the operation scars shrinks.  Wounds may become\ninfected and the edges of the wound thicken.\n\nCalcarea Fluor is usually a slow acting remedy.  It should be used over\na long period intermittently.  Once the beneficial effect becomes\nevident, unnecessary repetition should be avoided.  Sometimes it\nworks best in high potency.  Its a ilments become worse in changing\nweather, on resting and in humid c limate.
