## Keynote Indications
Peruvian Balsam has been proved by Lembke. It has been chiefly used empirically in 
catarrhal tuberculosis or bronchial catarrh with copious purulent expectoration. Sputa thick, creamy, yellowish 
white, loud rales, night sweats, hectic. 
Bals-p. is useful in bronchial catarrh with copious, purulent expectoration. Debility and hectic fever.  Cracks 
of nipples and fingers.

## Symptoms by System

### Throat
- Scraping in larynx in forenoon, dry cough.
- Continued scraping of fauces.
- COMMENTS - Hale used it with success in “chronic, purulent, fetid anterior or posterior nasal catarrh with or 
without ulceration.” He said that a cerate of the Balsam is the best application next to Glycerol of Aloes for 
indolent ulcers, cracked nipples, cracks in fingers and palmar surfaces of hands or fissured and chapped lips.
- Bals-p.
- is used locally as a stimulant to raw surfaces in indolent ulcers, scabies, cracked nipples.
- Promotes 
granulation, removes the fetid odor.
- A one percent solution in alcohol or ether may be used with the atomizer 
in respiratory disorders.
- Internally, it is used as an expectorant in chronic bronchitis.
- Used externally for killing scabies.
- All parts affected 
are gently rubbed with it at night and a bath taken in the morning.
- A single application is sufficient.

### Chest
- Cough, mucus and purulent expectoration.
- Tuberculosis of mucus type, vomit in lungs.
- Loud rales in 
chest (Kali-s., Ant-t.).
- Kidneys - Scanty urine, with much mucus sediment.
- Urination more frequent and copious.
- Catarrh of bladder 
(Chim.).
- Sticking and cutting in urethra.
- Bronchitis and tuberculosis with muco-purulent, thick, creamy expectora tion.
- Tuberculosis of 
mucus type, vomit in lungs.
- Very loose cough, mucus and purulent expectoration.
- Nose - Profuse, thick discharge.
- Chronic, fetid, nasal catarrh.
- Bleeding from right nostril.
- Ozaena with 
ulceration.
