Source:  Derived  from  the  dried  resinous  gum  of  Ferula  asafoetida,  a  perennial  plant  in  the. Apiaceae family, native to Persia and India, known for its pungent odor, prepared for homeopathic. use through potentization involving serial dilution and succussion. Traditional  Context:  Historically  employed  in  homeopathy  for  nervous  and  gastrointestinal. disorders, particularly those involving flatulence, hysteria, and sensory hypersensitivity. It is noted. for symptoms such as abdominal distension, explosive belching, nervous irritability, and a sensation. of a lump rising in the throat ( globus hystericus), often aggravated by stress, cold, or suppressed. emotions, and ameliorated by warmth, pressure, or open air.
