It is  said that once it enters the body, it\ngets absorbed into the bones and hair permanently.\n\nRestlessness and anxiety  are the main feature. The restlessness is\nmental rather than physical as in Rhus Tox.\n\nFear of death  with anxiety and restless ness. Some women become\nvery anxious following emotional shock or septic fevers.\n\nTidiness - the Arsenic patient is tidily dressed. He keeps his room tidy\nand in order and soon gets upset if things are disturbed in his room.\n\nDiarrhoea - stools are frequent, black and offensive. The patient is\nrestless and can have convulsions, as toxins gets absorbed from the\ninflamed gut. Prompt treatment with Arsenic Alb will soon restore the\ninflamed bowel.\n\nThirsty - increased thirst for small and frequent drinks is due to\nanxiety. Anxiety causes dryness of mouth that leads to increased\nthirst. In chronic cases he become s less thirsty despite having dryness\nof mouth, but anxiety persists. He tosses and turns in bed resembling\nGelsemium. The main difference is that there is no restlessness in\nGelsemium, while the arsenic patient is constantly restless in bed with\nincreased frequency of urine. Anxiet y and restlessness with throat or\nbladder illness indicates that the patient may be suffering from cancer.\nArsenic Alb will relieve the symptoms but one should treat the case\nconstitutionally.\n\nRestlessness with anxiety can be helped by high potency of Arsenic\nAlb in cases of terminal cancer. Re stlessness also acts as a stimulant\nfor natural body defenses. I once gave it to a lady with a terminal\nillness, whose doctors had stopped ad ministering her pa inkillers. It\ngreatly helped and she was peaceful.\n\nKidney diseases - Arsenic Alb is closely re lated to renal diseases. Its\npatient has albuminuria with inflamed kidneys . Anxiety and\n\nArsenic Album 90\nrestlessness can also result from mental overwork causing increased\nsensitivity of the kidneys. In cases of  diseases of the bladder, prostate\nand kidneys, where Arsenic alone is  indicated but does not help, the\naddition of Phosphorus will help  when given separately. This\ncombination of Arsenic and Phosphorus is also useful in the cancer of\nthe prostate. In my experience this also helped in a case of terminal\ncancer with limited life expectancy - the patient was helped by the\ngrace of God and lived peacefully for another year.\n\nChilliness \u2013 the Arsenic patient is very  chilly and feels cold. The\npatient feels better for heat (f eeling of heat) except for stomach\nailments and headaches which is be tter for cold (feeling of cold).\nHeadache is better with the application of pressure.\n\nNausea and vomiting  - Arsenic Alb patients can have severe nausea\nand vomiting.\n\nPeriodicity of symptoms  - the relapse of symptoms at a particular\ntime, such as in migraine, recurs every seven to fourteen days. The\nheadache is better with cold applications. If acute headache is not\ntreated properly in the Arsenic i ndividual it can become chronic and\nmove to the joints.\n\nAggravation after midnight  - the symptoms are worse at night. The\npatient is afraid of being alone and is anxious. When the disease\nprogresses the patient will not find any relief even in company.\n\nMenorrhagia and menstrual problems  - many a time uterine\nailments can change into mental symptoms of anxiety and\nrestlessness, with fear of death and depressi on.  If menses are stopped\nsuddenly with medicine and the mental  symptoms appear this is not a\ngood sign. The symptoms become chronic with offensive vaginal\ndischarges with blood clots. The pa tients have mental symptoms of\nrestlessness as well as general bo dy pains. Arsenic will relieve all\nsymptoms if indicated and gets ri d of toxins from the body. In these\ncases Kali Iodide and Arsenic Iodide combined or given separately are\nalso of benefit. In addition, Sulphur and Pyrogenium 200 given\ntogether is very effective in such cases. It will clear the infection and\nassociated symptoms.\n\nArsenic Album 91\nArsenic and Secale  Corn have many similarities . Secale is useful\nfor offensive and dark colored discharges The Secale patient feels hot\nwhile Arsenic Alb is chilly. Secale, even though he feels hot, feels\nbetter with external heat while the Arsenic Alb patient has offensive\ndischarges, with fear of dying and increased thirst for small drinks.\n\nDry cough and asthma  \u2013 the patients have nasal obstruction with\nitchy nose, sneezing, clear runny nose a nd swollen neck glands as in\nhay fever.\n\nArsenic* is useful in dry asthma  and chronic cardiac asthma. In\ncardiac asthma the pulse is weak and rapid but palpable. In the\nAconite and Belladonna patient,  the pulse is palpable. In a Carbo Veg\npatient, the pulse is weak but not  palpable. It disappears under the\nfinger. Arsenic is helpful in othe r cardiac diseases. The patient gets\nbreathless on climbing uphill and al so when flying. Such cases will\nbenefit from Arsenic given before, during and after the journey.\n\nGangerine and Arsenic Alb  - Arsenic is a very useful remedy in\ngangerine. In gangerine the afflicted part gets ischemic and infected.\nIn my experience, Arsenic has proved life saving in many cases. In\nsome cases where surgery seemed unavoidable the patient, by the\ngrace of God, was completely cure d with timely use of Arsenic Alb\n200. In another case, a young man had his arm crushed in a machine,\nthe wound became infected and amputation was advised.  I treated\nhim with Arsenic Alb in CM to be repeated weekly over a few weeks.\nBy the grace of God the arm of the patient  soon started regaining\nnormal color and the black colourat ion disappeared, thus surgery was\navoided. If the case does not respon d to Arsenic Alb one should try\nother remedies like Silicia or Sul phur in high potency before surgery,\notherwise it is better to have surgery to save the patient\u2019s life. In deep\nischemic ulcers Kali Iodide and Arsenic Iodide can be helpful.\n\n*\nArsenic on its own always means Arsenic Album.\nArsenic Alb and eyes  - the whole eye is inflamed. In Kali Carb the\ninflammation is confined to the upper eyelid, while in Apis it is the\nlower eyelid.\n\nPremature ageing  - the patient can have symptoms of ageing in\nArsenic, but it is more marked in Sarsaparilla and Chinumum Ars.\n\nArsenic Album 92\nArsenic alb and depression  - there is anxiety with depression. The\npatient has suicidal tendencies and thinks he is beyond redemption.\n\nMalaria and Arsenic Alb  - as in malaria periodicity is also found in\nArsenic Alb, the relapse of symptoms every fourth, seventh or\nfourteenth day. Arsenic Alb given in high potency is also effective as\na preventative in malaria. Arsenic should be given during remission of\nfever and not during the attack. Natrum  Mur is also useful in malaria\nbut one should avoid its use in rising fever. I have also found Arnica\nin high potency of great help in the treatment of malaria. Chinumum\nArs is reported to be useful in malaria but this is not so in my\nexperience. In fact, I have found that Arsenic Alb and Arnica are\nmuch better than Chinumum Ars.  Bryonia and Rhus Tox is useful for\ngeneral bodyache in the beginning of fevers generally.\n\nThe success of treatment in malaria is judged by the fact that the fever\nwill not return or will be of less severity or if the fever relapse is early\nor delayed. These are good signs and indicate that the treatment is\neffective. Otherwise, one should change the treatment or start\nallopathoic treatment.\n\nRetention of urine after labour - the best treatment is Causticum, but\nif it is ineffective Arsenic Alb can be useful.\n\nHoarseness \u2013  Arsenic Alb is beneficial when the throat is hoarse.\nAlso, if the patient has earache with  offensive catarrh and burning in\neyes and nose.\n\nArsenic symptoms are worse in damp weather, after midnight, at the\nseaside, after cold food, with heat and worse for hot drinks.\n\nAdjuvants: Rhus Tox, Carbo Veg, Phosphorus and Thuja\nAntidote: Opium, Carbo Veg, China, Hepar Sulph, Nux Vomica\nPotency: 30 to CM.","modalities":"","symptoms_by_system":[],"schema_version":"1.0","api_provider":"Allahshafi"}
