Many \nfatal cases were recorded and there can be little doubt that its injudicious use determined a fatal issue in many \ncases that have remained unrecorded. \nAntipyrines action is very like that of Acetan, in producing collapse, but it has more effect on the skin, causing \nscarlpt rash and edema. It is one of the drugs that induce leucocytosis, similar to ergotine, salicylates and \ntuberculin. \nAntipyrine acts especially on the vasomo tor centers, causing dilation of the capillaries of the skin and \n \n \ncircumscribed patches of hyperemia a nd swelling. In large doses, it causes profuse perspiration, dizziness, \ncyanosis, somnolence, albumen and blood in urine.
