Its main characteristics ar e flatulence, diarrhoea and the\ntendency to vomit.  Hundreds of medi cines can be used in this kind of\nsymptom complex, but they have th eir own additional, distinctive\nfeatures as well.  In Aloe an d Lycopodium, typically, one gets\ndiarrhoea after ingesting oysters.  Aloe should also be considered\nalong with Lycopodium wherever a patient suffers from diarrhoea\nafter eating seafood.  In the patien ts of Aloe and Lycopodium, the\nabdomen is bloated in the right lo wer part.  Generally, homoeopaths\nsuggest one of the three remedies for distension of the abdomen:\nCarbo Veg for the fullness and distension in the upper part,\nLycopodium for the distension of the right lower abdomen and China\nwhen the whole of abdomen is tense.  However, distension of the\nabdomen is also a symptom of other homoeopathic medicines, which\nwill need to be used as indicated.  The above three have been\nmentioned in most homoeopathic books as quick fixes for immediate\nuse.  Prolonged abdominal distension may lead to colicky pains.  In\nemergency situations, especially if  the condition of the patient is\ndeteriorating fast, the standard fo rmula as detailed above should be\nadopted.  Nevertheless, real, lasting relief wi ll only be offered by a\nproper constitutional remedy.\n\nNux Vomica is very useful when the intestinal movement is\nsluggish.  Carbo Veg will be more appropriate if the patient passes\noffensive wind.  In the Carbo Veg patient, there is a spasm at the\npyloric end of the stomach due to hyperacidity .  The food becomes\nstagnant and decays.  The stomach becomes distended with foul\nsmelling gas.\n\nChina is useful in abdominal dist ension only where other signs of\nChina are also present,  i.e., pati ent has dryness in constitution and\ngenerally displays signs of the ill effects of Malaria.  Sometimes, the\nwind or gas becomes trapped in th e intestines due to a lack of\ndigestive secretions from the stomach, liver, pancreas and the\nintestines.  China is especially useful in this kind of distension.\n\n.\nReturning to the main subject of Aloe, ingestion of seafood,\nespecially oysters, is immediately followed by diarrhoea .  Along\nwith nausea and vomiting , the patient suffers from headache,\nstarting from the forehead.  The eyes are red, heavy and difficult to\nopen.  The lips are dry.  Chewing\nproduces an audible noise in the\nears.  Sometimes, Aloe patients bleed  from the nose as they wake up\nin the morning.  The mouth tastes bitter.  Typically, there is pain under\nthe ribs on the right side.  Loose mo tions are associated with gripe.\nThe piles hang in bunches and feel burni ng hot.  Cold applications\noffer relief.  If the patient is constipated instead of having loose\nmotions, the lower part of the abdom en feels severely tense.  Meat\ndoes not bother the patient of Aloe, ye t the patient does not like to eat\nit.\n\nAloe women experience aggravation of their symptoms during\ntheir menstruation period.  Walking and standing becomes difficult.\nThe uterus feels full and heavy due to pelvic congestion.  The periods\nappear earlier than usual and are excessive (Menorrhagia).\n\nAnother sign of Aloe is irritati on of the throat and coughing.  The\njoints ache.  The symptoms are worse in the morning, more so in the\nhot, dry weather.  The cold weather and open air offer relief.  Mostly\nthe symptoms start or intensify after food intake.\n\nAdjuvant: Sulphur\nAntidotes: Sulphur, Opium\nPotency: 30","modalities":"","symptoms_by_system":[],"schema_version":"1.0","api_provider":"Allahshafi"}
